WO Shelley Jollimore 00168, Sup Tech
WO Shelley L. Jollimore CD, Sup Tech 00168 (nee Gillet), formerly LaHaise, will be retiring on 9 Feb 2019 after 29 plus years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
WO Jollimore joined the CAF on 15 March 1989 in Saint John NB, completing basic training in CFRS Cornwallis NS attaining overall top female in 5 Platoon. She then was off to CFLS St. Jean PQ for a 6 month French Course followed by 4 months of OJT with the Directorate of History. In March 1990 she commenced her Trades training as a Supply Technician (QL3) in CFB Borden ON.
In May 1990 she was posted to the Land Engineering Test Establishment (LETE) in Ottawa ON in numerous supply capacities until the closure of LETE in 1994. She was then posted to CFB Uplands Air Base in LPO purchasing primarily POL. In July 1995 she was posted to CFB Gagetown where she worked at the Main Supply Warehouse B10, 119 Air Defence later renamed to 4 Air Defense, Clothing Stores where she commenced her pre-deployment training with the RCR’s for Eritrea. She finished out her time in Gagetown with Land Force Atlantic Area Training Centre LFAATC working in the QM providing support to all the reservists in the Atlantic Area.
In Aug 2003 she was posted to 19 Wing Comox, working Customer Services, Local Procurement, and 407 Sqn Spare Parts Warehouse (SPS1) and finally as the Assistant Hazmat Coordinator. While in Comox she took part in the 2004 Nijmegen team and was deployed to UNDOF Golan Heights in Nov 2004 to Jun 2005. Summer of 2005, she participated in the Softball Nationals in Borden ON where her team won and was undefeated, earning the Air Command Team of the Year and CF Team of the year awards in 2006.
In Jul 2007, she was promoted to MCpl, and posted to Area Support Unit (ASU) Chilliwack as the 2 i/c Supply until Dec 2010. While in Chilliwack she participated in numerous Adventure Training exercises and organized one for a sea kayaking adventure in Sechelt, on the sunshine coast in BC. She was also selected to be the Parade Marshall for the Chilliwack Christmas Parade of Lights for 2 years.
She was posted to CFB Halifax, High Priority Requisition (HPR) Cell in Dec 2010. In Feb 2011 she was attach posted to TEME to prepare them for the new Supply System application roll out. In Jul 2011 she was posted to HMCS Preserver, where she participated in numerous Ops including, OP Caribbe, and OP Joint Warrior. In May 2013 she was promoted to Sgt and was posted to Canadian Forces Naval Engineering School CFNES which included the transformation of CFNES and CFNOS to the newly created Campus Atlantic, Naval Fleet School Atlantic ((NFS(A)) where she was the I/C Supply for over 5 years.
In Oct 2018, she was posted to JPSU where she commenced VRPSM and was finally promoted to her present rank of WO in Dec 2018.
Highlights of Shelley’s career were numerous and here are a few highlights; Regionals/Nationals for sports, including Softball and Volleyball, Nijmegen, UNDOF, her entire time in beautiful 19 Wing Comox (hidden gem of the RCAF), and sailing on HMCS Preserver with many ports of call including Scotland, England, Boston, Norfolk, Cartagena Columbia and Mayport and Key West Florida.
Shelley and her husband Stephen will be staying put in Lakeview NS for summers and Fort Myers Florida in winters, they have 5 children, Marc (Aviator Jollimore) 29, Borden ON; Alex Gillet-LaHaise 27, Dartmouth; Paul Jollimore 26, Halifax; Bekki (Rebecca) LaHaise 25, Chilliwack BC; and Graham Schick 22, Ottawa ON.

L’dj Shelley L. Jollimore CD, TECH APPRO 00168 (née Gillet), anciennement LaHaise, prendra sa retraite le 9 février 2019 après plus de 29 années de bons et loyaux services dans les Forces armées canadiennes (FAC).
L’Adj Jollimore s’enrôle dans les FAC le 15 mars 1989 à Saint John, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Elle suit l’entraînement de base à l’ERFC Cornwallis, en Nouvelle-Écosse, terminant première parmi les femmes du 5e Peloton. Elle suit un cours de français de quatre mois à l’ELFC à Saint-Jean, au Québec, puis une formation en cours d’emploi de quatre mois à la Direction – Service historique. En mars 1990, elle entreprend une instruction professionnelle en tant que technicienne en approvisionnement (NQ3) à la BFC Borden, en Ontario.
En mai 1990, l’Adj Jollimore est affectée au Centre d’essais techniques (Terre) à Ottawa (Ontario), où elle occupe divers postes en approvisionnement jusqu’à la fermeture du Centre en 1994. Elle est alors mutée à la base aérienne Uplands au Bureau d’approvisionnement local, où elle est responsable principalement de l’approvisionnement en PP. En juillet 1995, elle est envoyée à la BFC Gagetown où elle travaille à l’entrepôt d’approvisionnement principal B10, de la 119e Batterie d’artillerie antiaérienne, rebaptisée Magasin d’habillement du 4e Régiment d’artillerie antiaérienne. Elle y commence une formation préalable au déploiement en Érythrée avec le RCR. Sa dernière affectation à Gagetown est au Centre d’instruction du Secteur de l’Atlantique de la Force terrestre (CI SAFT). Elle travaille au bureau du QM à appuyer les réservistes du Secteur de l’Atlantique.
En août 2003, l’Adj Jollimore est affectée à la 19e Escadre Comox, où elle travaille au service à la clientèle, su service de l’approvisionnement local et au dépôt des pièces de rechange du 407e Escadron, puis elle occupe enfin le poste de coordonnatrice adjointe des HAZMAT. Toujours à Comox, l’Adj Jollimore devient membre de l’équipe de Nijmègue 2004 et se rend sur le plateau du Golan de novembre 2004 à juin 2005 en tant que membre de la FNUOD. À l’été 2005, elle participe au championnat national de balle molle à Borden, en Ontario. Son équipe invaincue remporte le championnat et, en 2006, est nommée équipe du commandement aérien de l’année et équipe des FC de l’année.
En juillet 2007, l’Adj Jollimore est promue caporal-chef et affectée à l’Unité de soutien de secteur (USS) Chilliwack en tant que commandant adjoint de l’unité d’approvisionnement; elle y reste jusqu’en décembre 2010. Pendant son affectation à Chilliwack, elle participe à de nombreux exercices de formation par l’aventure et organise même un exercice d’aventure en kayak de mer à Sechelt, dans la Sunshine Coast de la Colombie-Britannique. De plus, elle est choisie comme organisatrice du Défilé de Noël de Chilliwack pendant deux ans.
En décembre 2010, l’Adj Jollimore est affectée à cellule des demandes prioritaires de la BFC Halifax. En février 2011, elle est affectée temporairement au TGEM afin de préparer l’équipe au déploiement du nouveau système d’approvisionnement. En juillet 2011 elle est affectée au NCSM PRESERVER où elle participe à de nombreuses opérations, dont CARIBBE et JOINT WARRIOR. En mai 2013, elle est promue sergent, puis affectée à l’École de génie naval des Forces canadiennes (EGNFC). Cette dernière et l’École des opérations navales des Forces canadiennes (EONFC) sont converties au nouveau campus Atlantique de l’École navale (Atlantique) et l’Adj Jollimore y demeure comme commandant adjoint de l’approvisionnement jusqu’en 2018.
En octobre 2018, elle est affectée à l’UISP, où elle suit le PRPMAS et est enfin promue à son grade actuel en décembre 2018.
Les moments forts de la carrière de l’Adj Jollimore sont nombreux, en voici quelques-uns : participation à des championnats régionaux et nationaux de balle molle et de volleyball, Nimègue, FNUOD, son temps passé dans la belle ville de Comox à 19e Escadre (un joyau caché de l’ARC) et à naviguer à bord du NCSM PRESERVER faisant escale en Écosse, en Angleterre, à Boston, à Norfolk, à Cartagena, en Colombie, et enfin, à Mayport et à Key West, en Floride.
Shelley et son mari Stephen demeureront à Lakeview, en Nouvelle-Écosse, pendant l’été et à Fort Myers, en Floride, l’hiver. Ils ont cinq enfants : Marc (aviateur Jollimore), âgé de 29 ans, à Borden (Ontario), Alex Gillet-LaHaise, âgé de 27 ans, à Dartmouth (Nouvelle-Écosse); Paul Jollimore, âgé de 26 ans, à Halifax (Nouvelle-Écosse), Bekki (Rebecca) LaHaise, âgée de 25 ans, à Chilliwack (Colombie- Britannique) et Graham Schick, âgé de 22 ans, à Ottawa (Ontario).
Un dîner de Départ dans la dignité aura lieu le 8 février 2019 à midi, à la passerelle de la tour Juno, à Stadacona, à Halifax.
