1. Warrant Officer (WO) Kirsten (KD) Dell will be retiring on 02 May 2017, after 24 plus years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Logistics Service.

2. WO Dell enrolled in the CAF on 10 Nov 1992 in Calgary, Alberta.  She was accepted as a Supply Tech and served with 14 (Calgary) Svc Bn from Nov 1992-Jan 1997. She was employed in several exotic locations during her time in the Reserves: Calgary, Dundurn, Shilo, Cold Lake, and Wainwright. Her favorite tasking by far was working in the QM warehouse at the cadet camp in Whitehorse, Yukon in 1995.  After 4 years of several taskings and living out of barrack boxes, Kirsten decided she loved the military life enough to make a career of it. She was accepted for Component Transfer to the Reg Force as a Sup Tech on 1 Jan 1997, and off to CFSAL she went. During her time in the Reg Force, she spent most of her years at CFB Petawawa. Her first posting was to 2 Svc Bn, where she was deployed for the Winnipeg Floods, Ice Storm, and OP KINETIC ROTO 1. In between those times, she enjoyed all of the many field exercises and worked in sections such as G&T, RPPL, R&I, CBT Supply, and LBD. In 2001, she was posted to the RQ shop at 2 CMBG HQ & Sig Sqn where she again went on even more field exercises, and in 2003 was deployed on OP Athena ROTO 0 in Kabul as part of KMNB Sig Sqn. She remained with the Sqn until her posting to CFB/ASU Wainwright in 2005. Kirsten had a short 4 year posting in Alberta, where she worked in SPSS, SIG, Cust Svcs, and later as the IC LPO. In 2009, she was promoted to Sergeant and posted back to 2 Svc Bn in Petawawa. While with 2 Svc Bn, She was the IC LPO and went on many more exercises with the Bn, deployed with the IRU as part of the FLG, and even a few trips down Ft Irwin, California. In 2011, she was sent over to 2 Svc Bn QM and was employed as the TQMS. In 2013, she was promoted to WO and was the CQMS for Admin Company, 2 Svc Bn.  In Feb 2014, she was posted to 450 Sqn as the SQMS until her posting to JPSU (Petawawa) June 2016.

3. Throughout Kirsten’s career, one of her other many favorite pastimes were sports. She was a member of Inter-Unit and Base teams on several bases; and played competitively at the CAF Regional and National level in Fastball, Broomball, Volleyball, Hockey, and Slow-pitch.  Kirsten loved her time in the CAF, and all of the adventures, memories, and friends she has made along the way. There is truly “no life like it” (for those of you who were around when that came out). Kirsten would like to send out many thanks and well-wishes for the support from her many great supervisors, troops she worked with, her peers, friends, and family during her time in the CAF.

4. Kirsten plans to remain in the Petawawa area and take the rest of 2017 off to do some travelling, fish, camp, and canoe-trip in Algonquin to her heart’s content.  She has decided to return to her artistic roots and pursue a second career for Graphic Communications/ Illustration with Red River College in 2018.

5. At Kirsten’s request there will be no formal DWD held, however, there will be a small get-together for friends and family in Petawawa, Ontario (location and date in April 2017 TBC). 1. L’adjudant Kirsten (KD) Dell se retirera le 02 mai 2017, après plus que 24 années de service loyal et consacré aux Forces armées canadiennes et la Branche de Logistique.
2. WO Dell s’est inscrit dans les FAC le 10 novembre 1992 à Calgary, Alberta. Elle a été acceptée comme une Technicienne d’Approvisionment et servie avec 14 (Calgary) Bn Svc de nov-1992 a jan-1997. Elle a été employée dans plusieurs emplacements exotiques pendant son temps dans la Réserve : Calgary, Dundurn, Shilo, Cold Lake et Wainwright. Sa tâche préférée était dans l’entrepôt du QM au camp de cadet à Whitehorse, l’Yukon en 1995. Après 4 ans de plusieurs tâches et vivant de boîtes de baraque, Kirsten décidé elle a aimé la vie militaire assez en faire une carrière. Elle a été acceptée pour le Transfert Composant à Reg Force comme une Technicienne d’Approvisionment le 1 Jan 1997 et d’à CFSAL elle est allée. Pendant son temps dans la Force Regulière, elle a passé la plupart de ses années à CFB Petawawa. Son premier affectation était à 2 Bn Svc, où elle a été déployée pour les inondations à Winnipeg, la tempete de glace, et OP KINETIC ROTO 1. Entre ces temps, elle a aimé tous beaucoup d’exercices de terrain et a travaillé dans des sections comme G&T, RPPL, R&I,  l’Approvisionment de CBT et LBD. En 2001, elle a été transferée au magasin de RQ à 2 CMBG HQ et Sig Sqn où elle a de nouveau continué même plus d’exercices de terrain et en 2003 a été déployée sur OP Athéna ROTO 0 à Kaboul dans le cadre de KMNB SIG SQN. Elle est restée avec le Sqn jusqu’à son envoi par la poste à CFB/ASU WAINWRIGHT en 2005. Kirsten avait une mutation de 4 année courte dans Alberta, où elle a travaillé dans SPSS, SIG, Cust Svcs et plus tard comme IC LPO. En 2009, elle a été promue au grade de Sergent et remutée à 2 Bn Svc à Petawawa. Tandis qu’avec 2 Bn Svc, Elle était IC LPO et a continué beaucoup plus d’exercices avec le Bn, déployé avec l’IRU dans le cadre du FLG et même quelques voyages à Fort Irwin, en Californie. En 2011, elle a été envoyée à 2 Bn Svc QM et a été employée comme le TQMS. En 2013, elle a été promue à WO et était le CQMS pour l’Entreprise d’Administration, 2 Bn Svc. En février 2014, elle a été mutée à 450 Sqn comme QG d’esquadron jusqu’à son affectation à JPSU (Petawawa) juin 2016.
3. Au cours de la carrière de Kirsten, beaucoup de passe-temps préférés étaient sportifs. Elle a été membre d’Inter-unité et des équipes de Base sur plusieurs bases; et joué en compétition au niveau Régional et national FAC dans Fastball, Broomball, Volley, Hockey et Slow-pitch. Kirsten a aimé son temps dans le FAC et toutes les aventures, des souvenirs et des amis qu’elle a faits en chemin. Il n’y a vraiment “aucune vie comme cela” (car ceux d’entre vous qui étaient autour quand c’est sorti). Kirsten voudrait faire mille mercis et des bons voeux pour le support de beaucoup de ses superviseurs, des troupes qu’elle a travaillées avec, ses pairs, amis et la famille pendant son temps dans le FAC.
4. Kirsten planifie de rester dans la region de Petawawa et prendre le reste de 2017 a faire un peu de voyage, la pêche, le camping et l’excursion en canoë dans le Parc Algonquin autant qu’elle veut. Elle a décidé de retourner à ses racines artistiques et poursuit une deuxième carrière pour des Communications Graphiques / l’Illustration avec le Collège Red River en 2018.
5. À la demande de Kirsten il n’y aura aucun DWD formel tenu, cependant, il y aura une petite réunion pour des amis et la famille dans Petawawa, l’Ontario (l’emplacement et sortira en avril 2017 a suivre).
