Warrant Officer Andre R. Hamelin, CD
WO Andre Hamelin will be retiring on 9 Dec 2020 after 19 years of dedicated and loyal service to Canada, CAF and the Logistic Branch.
Coming out of the gold mining town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Andre joined the CAF on 4 July 2001 as a Supply Technician. He was shipped off to Saint-Jean to complete his BTL training, followed by his Supply Tech QL3 training. Then he was called by the mother ship and posted to CFB Petawawa 2 GS BN Dec 2001.
During his time in Petawawa, he was in 2 GS BN RPPL and the CQ. He then made his way to Borden for his QL5, was promoted to Cpl and posted to 1 Cdn Fd Hosp in Jun 2004. In his 6 years there, he was deployed on TF Afghanistan, ROLE 3 Hospital in 2006, JTF Afghanistan NSE 2008, JTF Afghanistan ROLE 3 Hospital 2009, also being promoted to the rank of MCpl, and OP Hestia ROLE 2 Hospital in Jan 2010.
He then heard a voice and the mother ship was posting him back to 2 SVC BN in July 2010. During this time frame, he was promoted to Sgt in 2013, QL6 in 2014 and was deployed on TF Nepal May 2015. In July 2016, he went on IR to CFSCE Kingston as the RQMS, then returned back to Petawawa at 4 CDSB Tech Svc and was promoted to WO.
As he proudly takes his uniform off on 9 July 2020, Andre would like to thank all who supported him and his family on what has been the best career possible. With his wife Caroline and three children, Patrick, Andrea and Danielle, he will continue with his life in Petawawa.

Adjudant Andre Hamelin prendra sa retraite le 9 déc 2020 après 19 ans de bons et loyaux services pour le Canada, les Forces armées canadiennes et la branche de la logistique.
Provenant d’une ville connue pour ces mines d’or, Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Andre joint les FAC le 4 juillet 2001 comme technicien en approvisionnement. Il est envoyé à Saint-Jean-sur- Richelieu pour compléter sa formation élémentaire et son niveau de qualification 3. Il est ensuite
appelé par le vaisseau-mère et muté à la BFC Petawawa au 2ième Bataillon de soutien principal en décembre 2001.Durant son temps à Petawawa, il a travaillé pour le peloton de pièces de rechange et le quartier- maître de compagnie au 2 Bon SP. Il s’est ensuite rendu à Borden pour compléter son NQ5. Il est ainsi promu au grade de Caporal et muté au 1er Hôp C Cdn en juin 2004. Pendant les 6 années suivantes, il est déployé au FO Afghanistan, à l’hôpital rôle 3 en 2006, FOI Afghanistan ESN en 2008, FOI Afghanistan à l’hôpital rôle 3 en 2009, est également promu au grade de Caporal- Chef, et Op Hestia à l’hôpital rôle 2 en 2010.
Il entend alors une voix, et le vaisseau-mère le retourne à Petawawa au 2 Bon Svc en juillet 2010. Pendant ce temps, il est promu au grade de Sergent en 2013, complète son NQ6 en 2014 et il est ensuite déployé au FO Népal en mai 2015. Au mois de juillet 2016, il part seul à EECFC Kingston au poste de SQMR. Ensuite, il retourne à Petawawa aux Services techniques du 4 BSDC et est promu au grade d’Adjudant.
Alors qu’il enlève fièrement son uniforme le 9 déc 2020, Andre aimerait remercier tous ceux qui ont porté soutien à lui ainsi qu’à sa famille sur ce qui fut la meilleure carrière possible. Avec son épouse Caroline, ses trois enfants Patrick, Andrea et Danielle, il continuera sa vie à Petawawa.
