SGT GREGORY RUSHTON – 00375 HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR

SERGEANT GREG RUSHTON WILL BE RETIRING ON 31 DECEMBER 2024, AFTER 34

PLUS YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AND

CANADA.

SGT RUSHTON ENROLLED AS AN ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK BACK ON 19 JULY 1990 IN

THE REGULAR FORCE IN MONCTON, NB AND NEVER LOOKED BACK.

DURING HIS CAREER, GREG WAS POSTED TO VARIOUS UNITS AND BASES ACROSS

CANADA AND OVERSEAS SUCH AS:

1. 9 WING & 103 RESCUE UNIT IN GANDER, NF FROM 91 – 94;

2. OP CALUMET, EL GORAH, EGYPT FROM SEP 93 – MAR 94;

3. CFOCS AND CFB CHILLIWACK, BC FROM 94 – 97;

4. HMCS CHARLOTTETOWN, CFRC DET HALIFAX AND LFAAHQ FROM 97 – 05;

5. SHAPE BELGIUM (J1 AND CFSU Det SHAPE – REMOTE CASHIER) FROM 05 – 09;

6. DMMOS, DAVPM & CFEWC OTTAWA FROM 09 – 15;

7. ALLIED LAND COMMAND (LANDCOM), IZMIR, TURKEY FROM 15 – 19; AND

8. 2ND BATTALION, THE IRISH REGIMENT OF CANADA FROM 19 – PRESENT.

DURING HIS TIME WHILE SERVING ON HMCS CHARLOTTETOWN FROM 97 – 99, GREG

COMPLETED A NATO TO EUROPE AND THE USA WHILE ALSO COMPLETING VARIOUS

NAVAL EXERCISES ON THE EAST COAST. SGT RUSHTON ALSO COMPLETED THREE

MAJOR NATO EXERCISES IN EUROPE DURING HIS POSTING TO TURKEY, SUCH AS EX

TRIDENT JUNCTURE IN THE FALL OF 2015 IN SANTA MARGHARITA, PORTUGAL, EX

TRIDENT JAVELIN IN THE FALL OF 2016 IN STAVANGER, NORWAY THEN EX TRIDENT

JUNCTURE IN THE FALL OF 2018 IN ROROS, NORWAY.

GREG IS EXTREMELY BLESSED AND THANKFUL TO HAVE MET, WORKED WITH AND

GAINED SO MANY VALUABLE FRIENDSHIPS ALONG THE WAY DURING HIS 34 YEAR

CAREER. HE IS ALSO GRATEFUL AND APPRECIATIVE TO ALL THOSE THAT BELIEVED IN

HIM AND HIS WORK AND OFFERED THEIR SUPPORT, ENCOURAGEMENT AND

GUIDANCE TO HIM OVER THE YEARS. GREG ALSO IS THANKFUL FOR HIS WIFE, SUE

AND TWO CHILDREN, HANK AND BRIANNA AS THEY HAVE SACRIFICED A LOT DURING

HIS MANY ABSENCES WHILE ON LONG EXERCISES AND WEEKENDS AWAY FOR WORK

COMMITMENTS. HE IS NOW LOOKING FORWARD TO BEING A MORE PRESENT

HUSBAND TO HIS WIFE, SUE AND CHILDREN POST RELEASE.
