Sergent Dany Lamarche, CD, HRA 00375
1. Sergeant Dany Lamarche will retire on 11 Oct 2019 after 28 plus years of loyal and dedicated service to Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces.
2. He joined on 26 June 1991 as a RAD OP. After the recruits he’s on his way to Borden to learn English. Meanwhile the FAC realized that there were too many Radio Operators and offered him 3 choices: 1) TEL OP, 2) Finance Clerk and 3) Release. He wanted finance but since he liked playing badminton better than study during high school he didn’t obtain the necessary credits in math. Since Release wasn’t an option, he chose Tel Op. So then Kingston in Jan 1993 for his QL3 followed by his first posting to Toronto (Apr 1993 to Sept 2003). The CAF wanted to send him to Kingston but Dany had something else in mind. A remuster to RMS Clerk (still with no math) and back to Borden for QL3 and a posting to Trenton with his new Air Force uniform. He first went to WOPS from 2003 to 2006. Promoted to the rank of MCpl in 2006 and got posted across highway 2 to the WHosp looking after the 2088 until Feb 2007. Borden, again, but with the FMAS section. Sergeant Lamarche receives, in June 2008, the news that CFSAL was looking for instructors. It was with great enthusiasm that Dany started teaching the trade. His first course, to everyone surprise, had 18 women and 0 men. It was a great group but he had to add ‘’that was a nail bitter at times’’. Now the time came for him to go back to La Belle Province and to Valcartier in 2012 with his current rank. First at the famous 513 as CC 2I/C followed by Head Cashier. Then came the RSS ‘’check in the box’’ with a Reserve unit in Lévis with the 6 FD REGT from 2014 to 2017. In the meantime, in Apr 2015, his love life took a high positive note when he met his beautiful Marie-Eve. They got engaged in May 2016 and bought a gorgeous house, in April of this year, that Marie-Eve transformed into a love nest. They will unite for good next summer at la Citadelle. In July 2017, Dany got posted to the IPSC as the CC (now TC as of Dec 2018) until his release from the CAF on 11 Oct 2019.
3. Dany wishes to thank Marie-Eve for her unconditional love and support, Marie`s daughter Jessica and his family for their patience. He wants to also thank all who had the pleasure of crossing his path. A special thank you to Eric and Nathalie for all the great time spent together and to Suzie-Q for all the fun times we had at CFSAL and in our car rides. He is presently learning how to care for horses at an equestrian center near his house.

Départ à la retraite – Sergent Dany Lamarche, CD, ARH 00375
1. Le Sergent Dany Lamarche prendra sa retraite le 11 octobre 2019 après plus de 28 années de bons et loyaux services au Canada et aux Forces armées canadiennes.
2. Il s’est enrôlé le 26 juin 1991 comme RAD OP. Après les recrues il se dirige à Borden pour apprendre l’anglais. Pendant ce temps les FAC réalisent qu’il y a trop d’Opérateurs Radio et lui offrent 3 choix : 1) TEL OP, 2) Commis Finance et 3) la libération. Il voulait les finances, mais étant donné qu’il aimait mieux jouer au badminton durant son secondaire, qu’étudier, il n’a pas pu obtenir ses crédits en mathématique. La libération n’était pas une option alors il a choisi TEL OP. En route pour Kingston en janvier 1993 pour son NQ3 suivit de sa première mutation à Toronto (Avril 1993 à septembre 2003). Les FAC voulaient l’envoyer à Kingston, mais Dany avait quelque chose d’autre en tête. Un changement de métier pour Commis SGR (toujours sans mathématique) et de retour à Borden pour ses NQ3 et muté à Trenton dans son nouvel habit de la Force aérienne. Il a été muté aux Opérations de la 8e Escadre de 2003 à 2006. Il reçoit sa promotion de Cplc et muté de l’autre côté de l’autoroute 2 à l’hôpital de l’escadre pour s’occuper des 2088 jusqu’en février 2007. Borden, encore, mais avec la section FMAS. Sgt Lamarche a reçu, en juin 2008, la grande nouvelle que l’EALFC cherchait des instructeurs. C’était avec un très grand enthousiasme que Dany débute l’enseignement du métier. Son premier cours, à la grande surprise de tous, était composé de 18 femmes et 0 homme. Un excellent groupe, mais il doit ajouter ‘’c’était comme des ongles sur le tableau’’. Le temps était maintenant venu pour lui de retourner dans la Belle Province et à Valcartier en 2012 avec sa promotion au grade de sergent. Premièrement au fameux 513 comme CC adjoint suivi du Caissier-Chef. Ensuite le fameux ‘’check in the box’’ dans une unité de Réserve au 6 RAC à Lévis de 204 à 2017. Entre temps, c’est en avril 2015 qu’il rencontre sa belle Marie-Eve. En mai 2016 ils se fiancent et font l’acquisition, en avril de cette année, d’une magnifique maison que Marie-Eve a transformée en un vrai nid d’amour. En juillet 2017, Dany se fait muter à l’UISP (CT à partir de décembre 2018) jusqu’à sa retraite des FAC le 11 oct. 2019.
3. Dany tient à remercier Marie-Ève pour son amour et son support inconditionnels, la fille de Marie Jessica et sa famille pour leur patience. Il veut aussi remercier tous ceux et celles qui ont eu le bonheur de croiser son chemin. Des remerciements spéciaux vont à Éric et Nathalie pour les excellents moments passés ensemble et à Suzie-Q pour les moments drôles passés à l’EALFC et en covoiturage. Il fait présentement un stage dans un centre équestre près d’où il habite.
4. Une cérémonie de départ à la retraite aura lieu le vendredi 25 octobre 2019 à 12 h 00 au restaurant Bâton Rouge (Galeries de la Capitale). Collègues, famille et amis sont invités.
