S1 Gabriel Dumont-Rossignol, 00168 MM Tech
After 10 years of dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Royal Canadian Logistics Service, S1 Gabriel Dumont-Rossignol is retiring 21 June 2021.
Gabriel originally enrolled in the CAF 22 June 2011 at CFRC Det Rimouski, Quebec. In 2012, after completing his Basic Training and QL3, he was posted to Gagetown with 5th Canadian Division Support Group (5 CDSG) Supply Company (Sup Coy) with R&I. In 2014, S1 Dumont-Rossignol was posted to the 2nd Royal Canadian Regiment (2 RCR) where he worked in SPSS and in the QM. In July 2015, he was promoted to his current and went on to complete is QL5. After many runs, field exercises and an unforgettable DP, Gab left 2 RCR to go back to Sup Coy where he worked in the LPO Sect. In 2019, he joined 4 Engineer Support Regiment’s (4 ESR) 48 Combat Service Support Squadron where he went on to work in the SPSS and QM sections. His knowledge acquired throughout the years was a great asset to 4 ESR and to his peers. Unfortunately all the field adventures weren’t convincing enough to keep Gabriel working with us at the Regiment.
Gabriel will be retiring in the Bas Saint-Laurent region of Quebec. He plans on going back to school in Silviculture and working at the family maple farm.

Après 10 ans de service dévoué au sein des Forces armes canadiennes et du Service de la logistique, S1 Dumont-Rossignol prendra sa retraite des FC le 21 juin 2021. Gabriel s’est initialement enrôlé dans les FC le 22 juin 2011 au CFRC DET RIMOUSKI (QUÉBEC). Après avoir terminé sa formation QL3 MM Tech, il a été affecté à la BFC Gagetown avec le 5 BSDC. Il a travaillé à la section expédition et réceptions de 2012 à 2013. En 2014, S1 Dumont-Rossignol est affecté au 2 RCR où il travaille aux pièces de rechange et au QM. En juillet 2015, il est promu à son rang actuel et complètera son QL5 l’année suivante. Après de nombreuses courses, d’exercices de champ et de DP inoubliable, Gab quittera le 2 RCR pour être muté à la section des achats en 2017 au 5 BSDC. En 2019, il rejoint l’équipe du 4 RAG dans la section des pièces de rechange et au QM. Ces connaissances acquises au fil des ans ont été un grand atout pour le Régt et ses confrères. Malheureusement, les exercices de champ que nous avons vécu à AS1 n’ont pas été suffisants pour convaincre Gabriel de continue de travailler avec nous au sein du régiment.
Gabriel prendra sa retraite avec sa conjointe Majorie dans la région du Bas Saint- Laurent au Québec, où il compte retourner aux études en sylviculture et travailler à l’érablière familiale.
