MWO Richard Gould, CD, 00168-01, Sup Tech

After serving for more than 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, MWO Richard Gould will retire on January 08, 2019.

MWO Gould enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve at the Montreal Recruiting Centre in 1990 as a Combat engineer. In 1992, he changed his trade to become a Supply Technician and transferred to 28 Service Battalion in Ottawa, Ontario. During these few years he worked on several projects on class B.

In 1996, he transferred to the regular force and completed his QL3. He was then transferred to 1 Service Battalion in Edmonton, where he remained until his next posting to the Canadian Forces Support Unit Ottawa (CFSU (O)) in August 2000. In 2003, he was transferred to the Canadian Forces Station (CFS) Leitrim, where he remained until 2005. During his time at this Unit, he was fortunate enough to be deployed on OP BOREAS, Bosnia.

Promoted to MCpl in August 2005, he was transferred to the Director General Land Equipment Program Management as a supply manager. He deployed on two operations during this period: TF Kabul, Afghanistan in 2005 and Op CALUMET in El GORAH, Egypt in 2008.

Promoted to the rank of Sgt in June 2009, he was transferred to the DGMSSC (Director General Manager-Materiel Systems and Supply Chain) where he had the opportunity to travel across Canada to conduct inspections on acquisition procedures. He was relocated again in 2012 to the Canadian Forces Joint Signal Regiment (CFJSR), first as a local purchasing and customer Services officer, and then as a Needs/Planning and Contracts Warrant Officer.

MWO Gould plans to relocate to Ottawa with his wife Sylvia, where they can meet with their three children Corey, Aston, and Alisha. Richard also intends to take the time to enjoy life with his family and friends, as well as to work as a civilian in the public sector.

A DWD will be held on January 18, 2019 at 13h00 at the CFB Kingston Warrants and Sergeants’ Mess. The meal will consist of a BBQ chicken breast, rice pilaf, carrots, garden salad and apple pie for dessert. The cost will be $25.00 per person. Après avoir servi plus de 25 ans au sein des Forces armées canadiennes, l’adjm Richard Gould prendra sa retraite le 08 Janvier 2019.

Adjm Gould s’est enrôlé dans la réserve des Forces Armées Canadienne au centre de recrutement de Montréal en 1990 comme Ingénieur de Combat. En 1992, il changea de métier pour devenir un technicien d’approvisionnement et transféra au 28e Bataillon de Service à Ottawa, Ontario ou il a travaillé sur plusieurs projets en classe B.

En 2003, il sera muté à la Station des Forces canadiennes (SFC) Leitrim ou il demeurera jusqu’en 2005 et a aussi eu la chance d’être déployé sur OP BOREAS, Bosnie.

Promu Cplc en Aout 2005, il est muté au Directeur Général Gestion du Programme d’Équipement de Terre comme gérant de l’approvisionnement. Il participera à deux opérations durant cette période : TF Kabul, Afghanistan en 2005 et Op CALUMET El Gorah, Égypte en 2008.

Promu au rang de Sgt en Juin 2009, il fut muté au DGSMCA (Directeur général – Systèmes de matériel et chaîne d’approvisionnement) ou il a eu l’occasion de voyager à travers le Canada pour conduire des inspections de procédures d’acquisition. Il a, encore une fois été muté mais cette fois-ci, au Régiment des transmissions interarmées des Forces canadiennes (RTIFC) en 2012, d’abords comme Officier des achats locaux et services à la clientèle, et ensuite comme Adjudant de la planification des besoins.

L’Adjm Gould planifie de relocaliser à Ottawa avec son épouse Sylvia, ou ils pourront retrouver leurs trois enfants Corey, Aston et Alisha. Richard a aussi l’intention de prendre le temps d’apprécier le temps avec sa famille et ses amis, ainsi que de travailler en tant que civil dans le secteur public.

Un départ dans la dignité officiel sera tenu le 18 Janvier 2019 à 1300hrs au mess des Adjudants et Sergents de la BFC Kingston. Le repas consistera d’une poitrine de poulet BBQ, riz pilaf, carottes, salade de jardin et tarte aux pommes pour le dessert. Le cout sera de $25.00 par personne.
