MWO J. STEVENSON, CD, 0168 SUPPLY TECH
1. AFTER MORE THAN 20 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AND THE LOGISTICS BRANCH, MWO JOHN STEVENSON WILL RETIRE ON 2 NOVEMBER 2017
2. MWO STEVENSON JOINED THE REGULAR FORCE FROM 14 AIR RESERVE AUGMENTATION FLIGHT ON 15 MARCH 1997. HIS FIRST POSTING WAS TO SUPPLY COMPANY OF 2 SERVICE BATTALION CFB PETAWAWA AND IN 2016, HIS LAST POSTING WAS TO SUPPORT DIVISION OF THE CANADIAN FORCES LEADERSHIP AND RECRUIT SCHOOL IN ST-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU. IN THE PRECEDING 19 YEARS, HE PROUDLY SUPPORTED 2 CANADIAN MECHANIZED BRIGADE GROUP IN VARIOUS UNITS INCLUDING: 2 FIELD AMBULANCE, 3RD BATTALON THE ROYAL CANADIAN REGIMENT, 2 CANADIAN MECHANIZED BRIGADE GROUP HEADQUARTERS AND SIGNAL SQUADRON WITH 4 RETURNS TO THE BELOVED SERVICE BATTALION.
3. DURING HIS CAREER, MWO STEVENSON DEPLOYED AS PART OF THE NATIONAL SUPPORT ELEMENT IN SUPPORT OF OPERATIONS INCLUDING OP PALLADIUM, BOSNIA, 1998 AND AGAIN IN 2001. ALSO, OP ATHENA SOUTH WEST ASIA / KABUL, AFGHANISTAN IN 2005 AND JOINT TASK FORCE AFGHANISTAN, KANDAHAR IN 2009. HE ALSO SUPPORTED DOMESTIC OPERATIONS DURING THE RED RIVER FLOOD IN WINNIPEG AND THE ICE STORM IN OTTAWA.
4. MWO STEVENSON AND HIS FAMILY (JULIE, LAUREN AND CARTER) WILL REMAIN IN PETAWAWA, ONTARIO WHERE HE HAS ACCEPTED A JOB WITH BOEING CANADA. A DEPART WITH DIGNITY LUNCHEON WILL BE PLANNED AT THE REICHWALD WARRANT OFFICERS AND SERGEANTS MESS IN PETAWAWA ON 2 FEBRUARY 2018.
