1. After 17 years and 192 days.
2. Enrolled 9 Dec 1980 where she ventured to CFB Cornwallis for Basic training. She then proceeded to CFB Borden for her TQ3 as an ADM CLK. She received a posting back home to CFB Gagetown, where she served 5 years before releasing. After release, she continued working with the Public service and NPF sections for 22 years. RE-ENROLLED AT CFRC HALIFAX on 31 MAR 2008. She hadn’t endured enough torture the first time, she completed basic training, again, at CFLRs St-Jean Quebec. Completing her QL3 Mar 2009 at CFLTC Borden ON she was then posted to CFB Greenwood in 2009 where she was employed with 14 Air combat service support squadron as an RMS Clerk. She received her GSM South West Asia medal in Oct 2010 for deployment to Afghanistan where she volunteered to stay longer to close out the Fiscal year. This led to her receiving a letter of appreciation and a commander’s coin from the Commanding Officer of the ATF. After return from deployment MCpl Squires filled the role of CC and Admin O of WLEO. July of 2012 she volunteered for a posting to Gander NL where she worked as the public funds cashier and a RMS clerk for 103 SAR. There were many days in Gander where travel to work was by snow mobile or Scarlett the scooter. She was the first RMS clerk to receive the Outcast of the Quarter award from 103 SAR. She also received the HCol award for Exceptional service to 9 Wing and the community of Gander. July 2015, MCpl Squires received another posting back to 14 ACSS Sqn where she, upon arrival, was responsible for the setup of Primary Force Generator Cell taking care of members from across Canada going on deployment. After this tasking was completed MCpl Squires also worked at the ARV Cell at 405 SQN. During her posting she was given the opportunity to be the cashier, work with the claims cell, and worked with Fin Svcs creating DOA’s.
3. Dean and Darlene have two daughters who, along with their spouses, are all currently serving members of the CAF. Upon retirement MCpl Squires is looking forward to spending time with her husband Dean Squires, having a luscious garden, boating, fishing, glamping and finding a new location to settle down to enjoy life to its fullest with her grand babies. After a career full of surprises, and a certificate for Intro to making cheese, the sky is the limit. With their love of food we cannot confirm what new certificates may come her way.

2. Enrôlée le 9 décembre 1980, elle débute son entraînement de base à la BFC Cornwallis. Elle a par la suite compléter son TQ3 commis Admin à la BFC Borden. Elle a reçu une affectation plus près de sa région d’origine à la BFC de Gagetown, où elle a servi pendant 5 ans avant de libérer. Après sa libération, elle a continué à travailler dans le secteur des services publics et du FNP pendant 22 ans. Le 31 mars 2008, elle s’est ré-enrôlée au CRFAC HALIFAX. Comme si elle n’avait pas assez souffert la première fois, elle a complété son entraînement de base, encore une fois, au ELRFC St- Jean. Elle compléta son QL3 en Mars 2008 au CFLTC de Borden (Ontario), puis elle fut affectée à la BFC de Greenwood en 2009, où elle fut employée par l’escadron « 14e Escadron de service de soutien (Combat aérien)» en tant que commis SGR. Suite à son déploiement en Afghanistan, elle a reçut la médaille MSG pour son service dans l’Asie du Sud-Ouest en 2010, où elle s’est portée volontaire pour rester plus longtemps afin d’y terminer l’année fiscale. Elle a d’ailleurs reçu une lettre d’appréciation et une pièce du Commandant de l’officier commandant de Force opérationnelle aérienne. Après son retour de déploiement, Cplc Squires a joué le rôle de CC et d’Admin O du WLEO. En juillet 2012, elle s’est portée volontaire pour une affectation à Gander (Terre-Neuve), où elle a travaillé comme caissière des fonds publics et comme commis SGR pour le 103 SAR. À Gander, il arrivait fréquemment qu’elle doive se rendre au travail en motoneige ou avec l’aide de Scarlett le scooter. Elle a été la première commis SGR à recevoir le prix le proscrit du quartier des 103 SAR. Elle a également reçu le prix du Col(H) pour son service exceptionnel à la 9e Escadre et à la communauté de Gander. En juillet 2015, Cplc Squires est muté au 14 SSAC à Greenwood. À son arrivée, elle fut responsable de l’établissement de la Générateur des Forces Premiers qui veillait sur les membres des FAC qui étaient déployés. À la fin de cette tâche, la Cplc Squires a également travaillé dans la cellule ARV du 405e escadron. Durant son affectation, elle eut l’opportunité d’être caissière, de travailler avec la cellule des réclamations et aussi de travailler avec les services financiers pour créer des DOAs.
Dean et Darlene ont deux filles qui, avec leurs conjoints, servent tous actuellement dans les FAC. Pour sa retraite, la Cplc Squires espère passer du temps avec son mari, entretenir son magnifique jardin, faire du bateau, pêcher, faire du camping de luxe et trouver un nouvel endroit pour s’établir et profiter de la vie au maximum avec ses petits-enfants. Après une carrière remplie de surprises, ainsi qu’un certificat d’introduction à la fabrication de fromage, il n’y a aucune limite pour elle. Avec leur amour de la gastronomie, nous ne pouvons savoir quel autre certificat se pointe à l’horizon pour eux.
