Lt(N) Michael Lalonde 00328 Log (Sea)
1. After over 29 years of service, Lt(N) Michael Lalonde will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 25 May 2020.
2. He enrolled in 1986 as a naval weapons technician until 1987. He reenrolled in 1990 as a naval electronics technician (tactical) until 2007 when he attended Mount Saint Vincent University through the UTPNCM program as a Naval Logistics officer. He graduated with honors in 2010 with a Major in Accounting.
3. During his time as a technician he served in several different HMC ships and submarines including Restigouche, Fraser, Vancouver, Calgary, Huron, Onondaga, Windsor, and Corner Brook. As an officer he served onboard HMCS Athabaskan as the Assistant Logistics Officer. During his tenure he was promoted to Lt(N) and was the Acting Logistics Officer for 3 months.
4. In 2014 LT(N) Lalonde was posted to Canadian Forces Logistics Training Centre in CFB Borden and in Jan 2016 he assumed the duties as the Logistics Officer of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers School.
5. LT(N) Lalonde will be retiring to with his spouse to the community of Manitoulin Island where he will be taking on the responsibilities as the treasurer of the Town of Gore Bay, Ontario.

1. Après plus de 29 ans de service, le lieutenant de vaisseau Michael Lalonde prendra sa retraite des Forces armées canadiennes le 25 mai 2020.
2. Il s’est enrôlé en 1986 en tant que technicien en armement naval jusqu’en 1987. Il s’est réengager en 1990 en tant que technicien en électronique navale (tactique) jusqu’en 2007 lorsqu’il a fréquenté l’Université Mont Saint Vincent dans le cadre du programme UTPNCM en tant qu’officier de logistique navale. Il a obtenu son diplôme avec mention en 2010 avec une majeure en comptabilité.
3. Pendant son mandat de technicien, il a servi dans plusieurs navires et sous-marins HMC, dont Restigouche, Fraser, Vancouver, Calgary, Huron, Onondaga, Windsor et Corner Brook. En tant qu’officier, il a servi à bord du NCSM Athabaskan en tant qu’officier adjoint de logistique. Pendant son mandat, il a été promu au grade de lieutenant (N) et a été l’officier de logistique par intérim pendant 3 mois.
4. En 2014, LT (N) Lalonde a été muté au Centre d’instruction de la logistique des Forces canadiennes à la BFC Borden et en janvier 2016, il a assumé les fonctions d’officier de la logistique à l’école royale du génie électrique et mécanique du Canada.
5. LT (N) Lalonde prendra sa retraite avec partenaire dans la communauté de l’île Manitoulin où il assumera les responsabilités de trésorier de la ville de Gore Bay, en Ontario.
