LIEUTENANT-COLONEL B.G. RICHARDSON, CD
1. AFTER MORE THAN 32 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CAF, RCAF AND THE RCLS, LCOL BRIAN RICHARDSON WILL RETIRE ON 23 MAY 2022.
2. LCOL RICHARDSON ENROLLED IN THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES IN HALIFAX ON 15 DEC 1989 AS A DIRECT ENTRY AIR LOGISTICS OFFICER, AFTER RECEIVING A BCOMM DEGREE FROM SAINT MARYS UNIVERSITY. FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF BASIC OFFICER TRAINING, SECOND LANGUAGE TRAINING AND LOGISTICS OFFICER TRAINING, LCOL RICHARDSON WAS FORTUNATE TO BE POSTED TO WING SUPPLY AT CFB SHEARWATER. FROM THERE HE WOULD ENJOY SUBSEQUENT POSTINGS TO 7 CANADIAN FORCES SUPPLY DEPOT IN EDMONTON, 416 TACTICAL FIGHTER SQUADRON AND WING SUPPLY IN COLD LAKE, 1 CANADIAN AIR DIVISION IN WINNIPEG, NATO AIR COMPONENT COMMAND HQ IN RAMSTEIN GERMANY, 14 WING GREENWOOD, STRATEGIC JOINT STAFF, AND FINALLY THE CHIEF OF THE AIR STAFF HQ IN OTTAWA. THE CAREER HIGHLIGHT FOR LCOL RICHARDSON WAS THE PRIVILEGE OF COMMANDING OVER THE WING LOGISTICS AND ENGINEERING BRANCH AT CFB GREENWOOD FROM 2012 TO 2015.
3. LCOL RICHARDSON SERVED ON OPERATIONAL DEPLOYMENTS AS THE THEATRE SUPPORT ELEMENT LOGISTICS OFFICER IN CAMP MIRAGE (UAE) IN 2004 AND IN THE CIVIL AVIATION DEVELOPMENT BRANCH OF ISAF HQ IN KABUL, AFGHANISTAN IN 2010.
4. LCOL RICHARDSON IS GRATEFUL FOR THE SUPPORT AND CAMARADERIE OF ALL THOSE DEFENCE TEAM MEMBERS HE HAS HAD THE HONOUR TO SERVE WITH OVER HIS CAREER. HE IS ETERNALLY GRATEFUL FOR THE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND SUPPORT OF HIS WIFE RHONDA AND THEIR THREE CHILDREN, CODY, EMMA AND JOEL, WHO’S SACRIFICES ALLOWED HIM TO SERVE THIS GREAT NATION FOR MORE THAN THREE DECADES.
5. BRIAN AND RHONDA HAVE SOLD THEIR HOUSE IN OTTAWA AND LOOK FORWARD TO MAKING ONE FINAL MOVE TOGETHER BACK TO THEIR BELOVED NOVA SCOTIA. WHILE NO DWD IS PLANNED, ANECDOTES AND WELL WISHES MAY BE SENT TO MAJ SHAUN MCCORMICK AT SHAUN.MCCORMICK@FORCES.GC.CA
