LCol A.F Ermel, CD, 00328 Log Finance
1. LCol Ermel is retiring after 29+ years of loyal and dedicated regular service to the CAF while supporting both the CA and RCAF, as well as having 6 prior years with CIC. On 6 Aug 2019, she will be taking off her Army boots for good.
2. LCol Ermel started her Regular Force adventure in Jul 90 in CFB Cornwallis as an Adm Clerk with the RCAF. Postings included locations such as 450 Tac Hel Sqn Ottawa, Cold Lake, both Wing side and 441 Fighter Sqn. Next, she was off to 2 Svc Bn in Petawawa – it was at this time (2001) she was accepted for the SCP and became an OCdt, Fin logistics with an Army uniform. Location, location, location….back in Ottawa with varied finance employments from 2004 to 2013 with ADM(Fin), 33 CBG, CA HQ and ADM(Mat).
3. In 2013 she finally went back to her roots, the RCAF as the 2 CAD Compt. Short lived, she was back in Ottawa in 2015 with ADM(Fin) until the summer of 2017. Moving a floor down at NDHQ, she became the Comptroller of the OJAG for a year and as luck would have it was posted back to Winnipeg as the A8 at 1 CAD in 2018. Location, location, location…ending her career with the RCAF.
4. Angie would like to thank all of her mentors and role models over the years, and all of the colleagues that made her short career so interesting, challenging and fun. She would especially like to thank her four boys; Jordy, Riley, Justin and Chris for their patience, understanding, love and support, and her husband Ross for his love, willingness to believe in her, and for providing guidance and an ear to listen.
5. Angie’s next chapter in life is to become a stay at home mom, without kids at home, to travel with Ross when he travels and to continue hitting the gym.
6. A Depart with Dignity Ceremony will take place on 13 June 2019 from 1300 -1600hr at 17 Wing Officers’ Mess. 1. Lcol Ermel prend sa retraite après plus de 29 ans de services réguliers loyaux et dévoués au sein des FAC, tout en apportant son soutien à la fois au CA et à l’ARC, ainsi que six années antérieures dans le CIC. Le 6 août 2019, elle retirera définitivement ses bottes militaires.
2. Lcol Ermel a commencé son aventure dans la Force régulière en juillet 1990 à la BFC Cornwallis en tant que commis-administrative auprès de l’ARC. Ses affectations ont inclus des endroits tels que le 450 Escadron d’hélicoptère tactique d’Ottawa, Cold Lake (côté escadre) et le 441 Escadron de chasseur. Ensuite, elle s’est rendue au 2 Svc Bn à Petawawa. C’est à ce moment-là (2001) qu’elle a été acceptée pour le SCP et est devenue une élof, officier de logistique, portant l’uniforme d’armée de terre. Lieu, lieu, lieu… de retour à Ottawa avec des emplois en finance variés de 2004 à 2013 avec le SMA (Fin), le 33 GBC, le QG CA et le SMA (Mat).
3. En 2013, elle est finalement revenue à ses racines, l’ARC, en tant que Compt de la 2 CAD. De courte durée, elle était de retour à Ottawa en 2015 avec le SMA (Fin) jusqu’à l’été 2017. En descendant un étage au QGDN, elle est devenue contrôleuse du GOSA pendant un an et, comme par hasard, elle est mutée à Winnipeg à 1 CAD en 2018 dans la position d’A8. Lieu, lieu, lieu… mettant fin à sa carrière avec l’ARC.
4. Angie aimerait remercier tous ses mentors et ses modèles au fil des ans, ainsi que tous les collègues qui ont fait de sa courte carrière une carrière si intéressante, stimulante et amusante. Elle aimerait particulièrement remercier ses quatre garçons; Jordy, Riley, Justin et Chris pour leur patience, leur compréhension, leur amour et leur soutien, et son mari Ross pour son amour, sa volonté de croire en elle, son conseil et son écoute.
5. Le prochain chapitre de la vie d’Angie est de devenir une mère au foyer, sans enfants à la maison, de voyager avec Ross lorsqu’il voyage et de continuer à s’entraîner à la gym.
6. Une cérémonie de départ dans la dignité aura lieu le 13 juin 2019 de 13h00 à 16h00 au mess des officiers de la 17e Escadre.
