CWO J.M Marceau, CD 1, 00169 Ammunition Technician
1. Effective 16 January 2018, CWO Marceau will retire after 29 years and 3 months of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces.
2. CWO Marceau joined the Canadian Armed Forces on 6 Oct 1988, in Rimouski, Quebec as Field Artilleryman 021, now 00368. After his Basic recruit course in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, he went to CFB Shilo, Manitoba, Battle school, where he completed his QL-03. Upon Graduation, he gets posted to Valcartier where he served with the 5e RALC during the period of June 1989 to December 1997. He occupied various positions within X Bty, Recce section, Command post technician and radio operator, 2I/C on the M109 gun and on his last year, he served with the Comd and Svcs Bty, intelligence section.
3. CWO Marceau was deployed 3 times with the unit, November 93 to May 94 Visoko, in Bosnia Herzegovina, April 1995 to October 1995 Visoko in Bosnia Herzegovina and October 1996 to April 1997 Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He also participated in the Oka Crisis in the fall of 1990.
4. In January 1998, he started a new career as an Ammunition Technician. QL-03 Borden, QL-04 Dundurn and QL-05 Borden. After his QL-05, he was posted back to CFB Valcartier Ammunition Platoon, 5 GS Bn and 5 Svcs Bn. Promoted to MCpl in August 2001, Sgt in April 2003, and WO in April 2006, he occupied various positions within the Unit and Brigade.
5. CWO Marceau was deployed 3 times with the unit, October 2001 to March 2002 Glamoc in Bosnia Herzegovina, January – August 2004 Kabul, Afghanistan and July 2007 to March 2008 in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
6. Upon his return in Valcartier, CWO Marceau gets posted to DRDC Valcartier, METC section from June 2008 to June 2009. During his time with the METC, he had the opportunity to work on various projects, directly related to the situation in Afghanistan, project for the new Aircraft Carrier, the Olympic Game in Vancouver and more. Promoted in June 2009 to MWO, he then went to wonderful Wainwright, AB, as the 3rd Canadian Division Senior Ammunition Technician from July 2009 to May 2014.
7. Promoted in May 2014 to his current rank, CWO Marceau accepted the posting at CFB Suffield, DRDC Suffield as the Explosive Safety Officer and at the Head section of the Explosive Chemical System Exploitation Group, where he went back to a more technical position for an Ammunition Technician. During his time at DRDC Suffield, he had the opportunity to work with awesome persons who are very dedicated and truly believe in the importance of their work, in the direct and indirect support for different Canadian government agency, the CAF, Canada and our Allies.
8. CWO Marceau had accepted an employment with the public service and plan to stay in Medicine Hat for many years to come. Martin, Isabelle and Tommy will also take some time to go to Quebec City to visit their daughter Jennifer, boyfriend Daniel and this wonderful and incredible newborn baby girl, Lili-Rose.
9. CWO Marceau did not request a DWD ceremony. A light luncheon will be held at a later date with some of the head staff from DRDC, FOS and ESEG, when all his certificates will be received and ready for presentation.

Adjuc J.M Marceau, CD 1, 00169, Technicien de Munitions
1. Effectif le 16 janvier 2018, Adjuc Martin Marceau prendra sa retraite après 29 années et 3 mois de bons et loyaux service aux seins des Forces Armées Canadiennes.
2. Adjuc Marceau a joint les Forces Armées Canadienne le 6 octobre 1988 à Rimouski, Québec, comme artilleur de campagne 021, maintenant 00368. Après son cours de recuit à Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, il est allé à l’école de combat de la BFC Shilo, Manitoba, ou il a complétée sa qualification d’artilleur QL-03. Dès sa graduation, il est muté à la BFC Valcartier ou il a servi avec le 5e RALC pendant la période de juin 1989 à décembre 1997. Il y occupa diverses positions au sein dela Bie X, Section de reconnaissance, technicien et operateur radio au poste de commandement, adjoint de pièce canon M109 et lors de sa dernière année, il a servi à la section d’intelligence de la Bie de Comd & Svcs.
3. Adjuc Marceau a aussi été déployée 3 fois avec l’unité, novembre 93 à mai 94 Visoko Bosnie Herzégovine, avril 1995 à octobre 1995 Visoko Bosnie Herzégovine et octobre 1996 à avril 1997 Port-au-Prince Haïti. Il a aussi participée à la crise d’Oka en 1990.
4. En janvier 1998, il débuta sa nouvelle carrière comme technicien de munitions. QL-03 Borden, QL-04 Dundurn et QL-05 Borden. Après son QL-05, de retour à Valcartier au Peloton de munitions du 5e Bon SG et 5e BnS du C. Promu Cplc en août 2001, Sgt en avril 2003 et Adj en avril 2006, il occupa différente position aux seins de l’unité et de la brigade.
5. Adjuc Marceau a aussi été déployée 3 fois avec l’unité, octobre 2001 à mars 2002 Bosnie Herzégovine, janvier 2004 à août 2004 Kaboul, Afghanistan et juillet 2007 à mars 2008 Kandahar, Afghanistan.
6. À son retour à Valcartier, Adjuc Marceau est mutée au RDDC Valcartier, section CEEM de juin 2008 au juin 2009. Durant cette période de temps, il a eu l’opportunité de travailler sur différent projet reliée à la situation présente en Afghanistan, projet des nouveaux avions transporteur, les Jeux Olympiques à Vancouver et plus. Promu en juin au grade Adjum, il fut muté à la merveilleuse Base de Wainwright, Alberta comme Techniciens de munitions Senior de la 3e Division Canadienne de juillet 2009 à mai 2014.
7. Promu en mai 2014 a son grade actuel, Adjuc Marceau a accepté d’être muté à la BFC Suffield, RDDC Suffield comme Officier de Sécurité des Explosif et chef de section du Groupe D’Exploitation des Systèmes Explosifs / Chimique, ce qui le repositionna dans une position plus technique pour un technicien de munitions. Lors de son séjour au RDDC Suffield, il a eu l’opportunité de travailler avec des gens incroyable qui étaient vraiment dédiées et croyant pleinement en l’importance de leurs travaux qui étaient reliées directement et indirectement au support pour les différents niveaux de palliées gouvernemental, les FAC, le Canada et nos alliées.
8. Adjuc Marceau a accepté un emploie aux seins du service public et va demeurer à Médicine Hat pour les années à venir. Martin, Isabelle et Tommy vont aussi prendre le temps de se rendre dans la Ville de Québec pour visiter leur fille Jennifer, conjoint Daniel et cette merveilleuse petite addition qu’est cette petite fille, Lili-Rose.
9. Adjuc Marceau n’a pas demandée une cérémonie de Départ avec Dignité. Un diner léger sera tenu à une date ultérieure et quelques chefs de section provenant du RDDC, SOC et GESE y participeront lorsque tous les diplômes auront été reçus et seront prêts à être présenté.
