CPO 2 James (Jim) White
With a mixture of sadness and happiness CPO 2 James, Jim, White will be retiring 5 Jan 2021 with 30+ years invested to the CAF and the Logistics trade.
Jim joined in 1990 and after finishing Cornwallis then continuing on to Borden for trades training in 1991. This is where he would begin dating Suzanne.
First posting was CFB Halifax where he sailed on the HMCS Fraser and was part of the commissioning crew for the HMCS Charlottetown, his hometown. Next it was off to CFB Kingston from 1996-2001. Working with some great people and getting promoted to MS and posted to CFB Petawawa. Posted to 2 Svc Bn he learned why he liked the Navy so much. Spent lots of time out in the training area and in Wainwright. Then it was off to OP Athena for 2 tours and getting promoted to PO2 in 2005 and then a posting back to CFB Halifax in 2006. Returning to sailing on the HMCS St. John’s in Dec of 2006 getting promoted to PO1 and posted ashore in 2009. In 2011 it was off to the West Coast starting Base Side and getting promoted in 2012 to CPO 2. In 2013 the Sea called again and it was off to HMCS Algonquin and in 2014 the HMCS Calgary. Finishing up on the West Coast and posted to Ottawa in 2015. Spend 4 years as the J4 Sup for CANSOFCOM. In 2019 his last posting was SJS.
I have had a truly diverse career sailing on both coasts being part of 5 Ships with many Ops and deployments, 2 tours of Afghanistan and 4 years with CANSOFCOM. I have worked with so many fantastic people and I hope I have helped a few along the way. This was only possible because of my loving wife, Sue, and son, Conor.
Jim and Sue will be retiring to PEI to relax and see what comes next.

Jim s’est joint en 1990 et après avoir terminé Cornwallis il a continué à Borden pour une formation professionnelle en 1991. C’est là qu’il a commencé à sortir avec Suzanne.
La première affectation a été à la BFC Halifax où il a navigué sur le NCSM Fraser et faisait partie de l’équipe de mise en service du NCSM Charlottetown, sa ville natale. Ensuite, il s’est rendu à la BFC Kingston de 1996 à 2001, ou il a travaillé avec des gens formidables et a été promu matc puis affecté à la BFC Petawawa. Affecté au 2 Btn Svc, il a appris pourquoi il aimait tant la Marine.
Il a passé beaucoup de temps dans la zone d’entraînement à Wainwright puis il est parti pour l’Opération Athena pour 2 tournées ou il a été promu m2 en 2005, puis à une affectation de retour à la BFC Halifax en 2006. De retour à la voile sur le NCSM St. John’s en décembre 2006, il a été promu m1 et affecté à terre en 2009.
En 2011, il est parti pour la côte ouest et en partant du côté de la base il a été promu en 2012 au grade pm 2. En 2013, la mer l’a rappelée et il est parti sur le NCSM Algonquin et en 2014 le NCSM Calgary. Terminé sur la côte Ouest et affecté à Ottawa en 2015, il a passé 4 ans en tant que J4 Sup pour le COMFOSCAN. En 2019, sa dernière affectation était à EMIS.
Il a eu une carrière vraiment diversifiée en naviguant sur les deux côtes en faisant partie de 5 navires avec de nombreuses opérations et déploiements, 2 tournées en Afghanistan et 4 ans avec le COMFOSCAN.
J’ai travaillé avec tant de personnes fantastiques et j’espère en avoir aidé quelques-unes en cours de route. Cela n’a été possible que grâce à ma tendre épouse, Sue, et à mon fils, Conor.
Jim et Sue prendront leur retraite à l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard pour se détendre et voir ce qui va suivre.
