RETIREMENT – Cpl Isabelle Michaud , 00164 Cook

  1. After more than 11 years of loyal and dedicated service to the CAF, Cpl Isabelle Michaud will retire on 27 May 2017 due to a 3B medical release.
  2. Isabelle joined the CAF for a second time on 5 September 2005 as a Cook.  Her first time with the CAF was from 1989 to 1991 as a gunner (field artillery) with the 5th RALC in Valcartier.
  3.  After completion of her basic recruit in St-Jean-sur-le-Richelieu in December 2005, she was posted to CFB Borden for her QL-3.  After graduation, back to Valcartier where she completed and graduated from her soldier qualification in March 2006.
  4. Waiting to complete her QL-5 at CFB Borden, she stayed in Valcartier where she completed an on-job-training at the Base main kitchen from April to August 2006.
  5. Back to CFB Borden, she completed her QL-5 trade qualification in December 2006.  Then, posted to Valcartier with the 5 Svcs Bn as a trained cook where she occupied various positions within the Unit and Base.  In July 2009, she was posted again and this time with her husband, at CFB Wainwright Alberta.
  6. Promoted to Corporal in September 2009, she occupied the 2 IC and IC catering position for the Base kitchen and the Sergeant and Warrant mess, 2 IC and IC production at the Base kitchen.
  7. Isabelle will be trained as an apprentice with the Southern Alberta Commissionaire Corps from March to May 2017 where she will figure out if she can pursuit this avenue as a second career due to her physical limitations.
  8. Upon retirement, Isabelle will take advantage of the SISIP Voc rehab and will pursue her studies and will decide if she is capable to find and pursuit a second career which will support her physical limitations created by her feet and by keeping in the same time a certain level of quality of life.
  9. Isabelle will be back permanently home in Medicine Hat, AB, with her husband Martin, and son Tommy, after 3 years of travel back and forth between Wainwright and Medicine Hat.  In addition, she will be visiting Jennifer and Daniel in Quebec City next October, where she will assist them with the birth of our new family generation.

RETRAITE – Cpl Isabelle Michaud, 00164 Cuisinière

  1. Après plus de 11 années de fidèle et dévoué service aux seins des FAC, Caporal Isabelle Michaud se retirera le 27 mai 2017 dû à une libération médical 3B.
  2. Isabelle a rejoint les FAC pour une deuxième fois le 5 septembre 2005 comme cuisinière.  Son premier passage aux seins des FAC a été de 1989 à 1991 comme artilleur de campagne au sein du 5E RALC à Valcartier.
  3. Après avoir compléter son cours de recrue à St-Jean-sur-le-Richelieu en décembre 2005, elle fut mutée à la BFC Borden pour son QL3.  Par la suite,  de retour à Valcartier ou elle a complétée son cour de qualification de soldat et a graduée en mars 2006.
  4. En attente de compléter son cours de QL-5 à la BFC Borden, elle demeura à Valcartier ou elle effectuera de l’entrainement comme apprentie cuisinière à la cuisine de la Base, d’avril à août 2006.
  5. De retour à la BFC Borden, elle complète sa qualification de métier QL-5 en décembre 2006.  Ensuite, elle est mutée à Valcartier au 5e bataillon de service du canada comme cuisinière ou elle occupera diverse position au sein de l’unité et de la Base.  En juillet 2009, elle est mutée de nouveau mais cette fois-ci avec son conjoint à la BFC Wainwright Alberta.
  6. Promu au grade de caporal en septembre 2009, elle occupa les positions d’adjoint et superviseur approvisionnement alimentaire de la Base et celui du mess des sergents adjudants, et adjoint et superviseur à la production alimentaire à la cuisine de la Base.
  7. Isabelle effectuera un l’entrainement comme apprentie avec le corps des commissionnaires du sud de l’Alberta de mars à mai 2017 et décidera si elle sera en mesure de poursuivre une seconde carrière dû à ses limitations physiques.
  8. Suite à sa retraite, Isabelle prendra avantage du programme de réadaptation professionnel du RARM et poursuivra ses études et décidera si elle sera en mesure de trouver et de poursuivre une seconde carrière tout respectant ses limitations physiques causé par ses pieds et en essayant de maintenir un certain niveau de qualité de vie.
  9. Isabelle sera enfin de retour à la maison à Medicine Hat, AB, avec son conjoint Martin et son fils Tommy et ce après trois ans de voyagement entre wainwright et la maison.  De plus, elle visitera en octobre prochain sa fille Jennifer et son conjoint Daniel qui demeure à la ville de Québec et les assisteront avec la naissance d’une nouvelle génération pour notre famille.
