2. CAPT TANYA LEA BOWEN WAS BORN IN WINNIPEG, MB. SHE ENROLLED WITH THE ARMY RESERVES AS AN ADMIN CLERK ON 9 NOV 1992 WITH THE 1ST BATTALION, ROYAL NEWFOUNDLAND REGIMENT IN ST. JOHN’S. IN 1993, SHE TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL REGINA RIFLES AND THEN TO MAN-LKHD HQ (NOW 38 CBG HQ) LOCATED IN WINNIPEG IN SEP OF 1994. IN 1998 SHE WAS PROMOTED TO MCPL SHORTLY AFTER HER OCCUPATION CHANGED TO RMS CLK. AFTER PROMOTION SHE WAS TASKED FOR TWO SUMMERS TO INSTRUCT BASIC TRAINING WITH THE BOLD EAGLE PROGRAM, THE FIRST FEMALE TO HAVE HELD THIS ROLE. IN 1999, SHE WAS EXCITED TO TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE OF A DEPLOYMENT, HEADING TO SFOR HQ IN BOSNIA AS THE LONE CLK TASKED TO SUPPORT CANADIAN PERSONNEL WORKING IN SARAJEVO. IN DEC 2000, SHE COMPLETED A COMPONENT TRANSFER TO THE REGULAR FORCE AND WAS POSTED RSS TO 17 MED COY WINNIPEG. AFTER A YEAR RSS SHE WAS POSTED TO THE 17 WOR WORKING AS A CELL CLERK AND AS 17 WG SUB CASHIER. SHE PROCEEDED ON OP APOLLO/OP ATHENA IN 2003 AS SUB CASHIER; TRAVELLING TO CAMP MIRAGE, AFGHANISTAN, KUWAIT AND DJIBOUTI, AFRICA IN SUPPORT OF DEPLOYED PERSONNEL. UPON RETURN TO CANADA, SHE WAS POSTED TO CFSSAT AS CCLK. SHE WAS PROMOTED TO SGT BEFORE BEING POSTED TO 17 WOPS AS CCLK IN 2006. WHILE AT OPS SHE DEPLOYED ON MULTIPLE OP BOXTOPS IN THULE, GREENLAND.
3. IN 2008, SHE WAS ACCEPTED TO THE UTPNCM PROGRAM AND REQUESTED TRANSFER TO THE AIR FORCE AS A LOG O, OCDT. SHE ATTENDED THE UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA ACHIEVING A BACHELOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES – HONOURS (WILDLIFE BIOLOGY) IN 2012. AFTER GRADUATION, SHE WAS POSTED TO 17 WLE AS THE ADMIN O AND WAS PROMOTED TO LT IN AUGUST OF 2013. IN 2015, SHE WAS POSTED TO 3 CFFTS AND WAS PROMOTED TO CAPT SHORTLY AFTER ARRIVAL.
4. DURING HER TIME AT 3 CFFTS AS A LOGISTICS OFFICER SHE HAS BEEN A KEY FACTOR IN THE SUCCESS OF THE SCHOOL. HER COMMITMENT TO EVERY SINGLE MEMBER IS EVIDENT IN HER DEDICATION AND TIRELESS EFFORTS TO ENSURE THEIR SUCCESS. SHE HAS BEEN AN INTEGRAL PART OF HUNDREDS OF STUDENT PILOTS ACHIEVING THEIR WINGS. CAPT BOWEN ROUTINELY GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND ENSURING THAT THE NEEDS OF THE MEMBERS ARE MET. HER COMMITMENT NOT ONLY TO THE SCHOOL, BUT TO HER PROVINCE AND HER COUNTRY ARE EVIDENT IN EVERY TASK SHE TACKLES. HER POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND TREMENDOUS WORK ETHIC ARE AN INSPIRATION TO EVERY MEMBER AT 3 CFFTS.
5. AFTER HER RELEASE, CAPT BOWEN WILL CONTINUE TO WORK AS A PUBLIC SERVANT WITH THE CFTS IN THE DAST SITE REPRESENTATIVE ROLE LOCATED AT SOUTHPORT. IN HER RETIREMENT, SHE LOOKS FORWARD TO TIME WITH HER HUSBAND DAVE, AN INFANTRY OFFICER WITH 2 PPCLI, HER DAUGHTER, CARYS AND HER PARENTS BILL AND BARB RIDEOUT, WHO HAVE RECENTLY RELOCATED TO SOUTHPORT. SHE PLANS TO ENJOY RETIREMENT AT HER FARM, RESCUING CATS,
