Capt Peter William Hamilton 00328 Log O (Land)
1. After more than 40 years of service, Captain Peter Hamilton will retire from the CAF on 20 June 2018.
2. Captain Hamilton joined the CAF in 1978 as an Admin Clerk, working his way up to the rank of Warrant Officer before commissioning as an officer in 2009. Out of his many postings, the one he considers to be the most satisfying was his time spent at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario. Captain Hamilton was posted to RMC starting in 2009 until 2016 where he fulfilled roles ranging from Squadron Commander to Staff Officer Careers. He says that being a part of the moulding and shaping of the next generation of leaders was the most fulfilling and prideful post of his career.
3. Captain Hamilton’s retirement plans are to summer at his cottage, snowbird in the winter, and to sponge off of his three kids; Leslie, Jackie and Michael.
4. A farewell get together will be held in Captain Hamilton’s honour at the Jubilee Lodge in Petawawa Ontario from 1130-1500 hrs on 21 June 2018. The cost will be $20 per person.

1. Après plus de 40 années de service, le capitaine Peter Hamilton prendra sa retraite des FAC le 20 juin 2018.
2. Le capitaine Hamilton s’enrôle dans les FAC en 1978, en qualité de commis d’administration, et il gravit les échelons jusqu’au grade d’adjudant avant de recevoir sa commission d’officier en 2009. Parmi ses nombreuses affectations, celle qu’il considère comme la plus satisfaisante a été la période passée au Collège militaire royal de Kingston (Ontario). Le capitaine Hamilton est affecté au CMR dès 2009 et jusqu’en 2016; là, il a assumé des fonctions allant de celles du commandant d’escadron à celles d’officier d’état-major – Carrières. Il dit que d’avoir aidé à façonner et former la prochaine génération de chefs a été l’aspect le plus satisfaisant et valorisant de sa carrière.
3. Les projets de retraite du capitaine Hamilton sont de passer l’été à son chalet, l’hiver dans le Sud, et de profiter au maximum de ses trois enfants : Leslie, Jackie et Michael.
4. Une rencontre d’adieu se tiendra en l’honneur du capitaine Hamilton, au Jubilee Lodge de
Petawawa (Ontario), de 11 h 30 à 15 h le 21 juin 2018. Les frais seront de 20 $ par personne.
