Lest We Forget Information
LOGISTICS BRANCH ROLL OF HONOUR
The Logistics Service Roll of Honour records the names of all logisticians who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country subsequent to 1 October 1947. The Honour Roll, accessible via the link below (RCLSA LOGISTICS BRANCH ROLL OF HONOUR), has been prepared by RCLSA Member John Stuart from his review over the last ten years of Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC) 7th Book of Remembrance and the Canadian Virtual War Memorial (CVWM) entries on the VAC web site. The criteria for inclusion in this Honour Roll are that the logistician died on active duty or whose death was consequently attributed to such duty. This is usually confirmed by the Board of Inquiry into the member’s death.
When viewing the Honour Roll you will see many “Unknown” entries due to the fact that no information was available to John from VAC, their CVWM entry or other sources. In fact, when the Honour Roll was reviewed by two RCLSA members, three logistic branch members who died on duty were identified but were not listed as members of the Logistics Service. If you can provide some of the missing information or know of a logistician who died on duty and is not listed, please let us know via our e-mail address: lestweforget.cfla@gmail.com.
