RETIREMENT – SGT A.D. WALSH, CD, HRA 00375

  1. Sgt Walsh will be wearing her uniform for the last time on 18 May 17, after 28 plus years of loyal and dedicated service with the Canadian Armed Forces.
  2. Sgt Walsh enrolled in the CAF on 6 Oct 88 in Corner Brooke NL, wanting to see Canada, the world and to get away from NL. After completing her basic training in Cornwallis, and completing her trade qualification of Tel Op in Kingston, she was posted to Gander NL; no world tour here. In 1991, she was posted to Shilo, and remained there until her next posting back to the east coast to Halifax NS. When the trade was amalgamated in 2000, she became a Sig Op  and remained in Halifax.  In 2003, she was posted to Petawawa, where she deployed to Op Archer in Afghanistan for the first time.  In 2008, she saw the light, and decided to transfer to RMS clk, she remained in Petawawa for a couple more years, completing a second deployment to Afghanistan, Op Athena in 2011.  She has been posted to Ottawa after tour, working at CANSOFCOM and completing her last years with CFSU(O) as a HRA.  She is now saying good bye to this chapter of her life and starting a new one with the Public Service remaining loyal to DND.
  3. She will remain in Russell with her husband, son and two dogs will enjoying spending time with her granddaughter and new grandson.
  4. A DWD will be held at the WO’s & Sgt’s Mess at Cartier Square Drill Hall on 18 May 17 1130-1400.

  1. Sgt Walsh portera son uniforme pour la derniere fois le 18 mai 17 apres plus de 28 ans de devouement et loyaux services.
  2. Afin de voir le Canada et le monde et sortir de TN, Sgt Walsh s’enrole dans la FAC, le 6 oct 88, a Corner Brooke TN. Apres avoir completer son entrainement a Cornwallis, et son     entrainetment d’occupation de Tel a Kingston, elle est mutee a Gander TN; petite tournee du monde ahah. En 1991, elle est de nouveau mutee a Shilo ou elle restera jusqu’a sa prochaine mutation a Halifax NE. Pendant la fusion en 2000, elle devient une Op Trans. En 2003, elle est mutee a Petawawa ON et deployee avec Op Archer en Afghanistan. Apres reflections, en 2008, elle decide de transferer comme Commis SGR.  En 2011, elle complete un deuxieme deploiement avec Op Athena en Afghanistan. De retout au Canada, elle travaille pour CANSOFCOM a Ottawa. Elle complete s’est dernieres annees a USFC(O) comme ARH. Elle commencera un nouveau chapitre avec la fonction publique, mais demeura toujours dediee au DND.
  3. Elle continuera de vivre a Russell avec son epoux, son fils, et s’est deux chiens et passera s’en doute beaucoup de temps avec sa petite-fille et son nouveau petit-garcon.
  4. Une ceremonie de depart aura lieu le 18 mai 17 a 1130-1400 hrs au mess des adjts et sgts du manege militarie de la place cartier.
