Celebrate Canadian Armed Forces Day this Sunday
The past year has been challenging for many, including our women and men in uniform who have been responding to the pandemic. In normal times, the weight of military service can take a toll on those in uniform, and by extension their families. Absence, relocation, and risks are hallmarks of military life. Current circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have magnified these stressors for our troops and their families.
Like so many Canadians, reservists and spouses have lost jobs. Military families with a child with disabilities have had to navigate the search for exceptional care during the pandemic, while others struggle to balance one-parent households during deployments.
Our troops have been at the helm of the vaccine rollout across the country, providing front-line support in long-term care facilities and assisting in northern communities. Once again demonstrating their commitment to keep our country safe.
This Sunday, June 6th, on Canadian Armed Forces Day, join us in honouring and celebrating the resiliency of our troops.
Throughout the month of June, you can visit CANEX in-store or online to show your support through the Gift of Giving campaign. For other ways to get involved with the CAF community, through special events and activities, visit the Support Our Troops website.
