SWIGARTT, Robert, RCASC

Bob passed away peacefully on Thursday 11 November 2020 at the age of 79.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Inge, and 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and 2 little great granddaughters.

Bob served with distinction as a former Guardsman and RCASC Trucker.  Postings included Fort Henry, C Plt 1 Tpt Coy, Fd Amb in Chambly, CFB’s Lahr and Trenton.

Bob enjoyed driving of all sorts.  He did a lot of car slaloms with Web Liddle and they always seemed to come home with a trophy.  When stationed in Lahr, he went drag racing.

On retirement, Bob continued in the trucking business.

His wife, Inge, notes:” … that while his passing is a shock, it is also a blessing.  He fought a long hard battle with COPD but the one final infection was too difficult to fight.  Thank goodness we all have so many wonderful memories of him that we can cherish.  There will not be an obituary published.  Bob wanted to keep everything private and I will respect his wishes.”
