MORROW, Robert Douglas, Major (Ret’d), Logistics

morrowAfter a long, full life, the ever-optimistic and exuberant Bob succumbed to heart failure on January 20, 2018.   Born January 11, 1932 in St. John (NB), Bob recently marked his 86th birthday in the company of family, good food and a drink.  Bob will be remembered for his zest for life, generosity and buoyant personality. He enjoyed many roles over the course of his journey: admiring brother, loving husband, attentive hockey dad, jovial grandfather, keen bridge player, lively party-goer, and generous and good-humoured friend. Bereft of his love, Ann VandenHanenberg, Bob is survived by his sons Rob and Andy, daughters-in-law Kate and Nicolle, and grandsons Barrett, Jakob and Harry.  Bob always encouraged his sons to pursue their passions and abilities, for which they will be eternally grateful.

A military man at heart, Bob’s 35+ year Canadian Forces and public service career included the valued opportunity to serve on a United Nations peacekeeping mission to Egypt, numerous Air Force postings across Canada in supply and logistics, and public service procurement.

Friends and family are invited to raise a glass to Bob, this Friday, January 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Hylands Golf Club, 2101 Alert Road, Ottawa. Donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute are appreciated.
