It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Dave on May 8th, 2023, age 76, surrounded by those who loved him. Dave was born in Ottawa June 4th, 1947. He is survived by Lorna, his wife and best friend of 52 years, his three daughters Monica (Brent), Duska (Andrew) and Shayla (Stephane). Dave took enormous pride and joy in the accomplishments of his six grandchildren Hudson, Mia, Anderson, Chanelle, Everett and Sofie. He was predeceased by his young daughter Briana.
Dave’s career included 22 years as a Logistics Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces retiring as a Lieutenant-Colonel followed by 14 years in the RCMP as a Civilian Member retiring as an Assistant Commissioner.
He had a full and happy life. Blessed with a wonderful family, played lots of golf and bridge, travelled extensively, listened to Sound of Music a 1000 times and enjoyed many social times with family, friends and neighbours. He was a generous host and those of us who were lucky enough to be treated to his homemade pierogies will certainly miss those.
We hope that Dave has a comfortable spot to watch the Blue Jays, Raptors and Senators and that he gets to enjoy the occasional rye and ginger.
At Dave’s request there will be no funeral and his body has been cremated.
