MANSO, Ignatius “Cholo”, Lt(N), CD, RCN – Sea Log, RCLS
With an extremely heavy heart, we announce the passing of Ignatius “Cholo” Manso on December 6, 2023. Cholo peacefully passed away at the Ottawa Civic Heart Institute with his family at his side.
Born May 17th, 1963, in Montreal, Quebec, Cholo was the devoted partner to Nora McNichol, and loving father to Isabela Manso and stepfather to Victoria Foster and Alexandra Watson.
He leaves behind relatives in Canada, US, and Spain, along with friends, rugby teammates, and comrades from his service as a Supply Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy. Cholo will be fondly remembered for his strength, kindness, dependability, one-of-a-kind humour, and unconditional love.
A celebration of his life will take place at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road on Sunday, December 10th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Words of Remembrance will be spoken at 1:30 PM.
If desired, memorial donations can be made to Myeloma Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Cholo, commemorating his battle with amyloidosis and myeloma.
