MACFARLANE, John, (Ret’d), RCOC

MACFARLANEJohn passed peacefully at Valleyview Home, St. Thomas,  on Monday, June 29, 2020 in his 88th year.  Predeceased by his wife, Trudy.  Cherished father of Stephen (Nancy) of St. Catharines, Linda (Jim) Bowden and Donna (Glenn) Stonehouse, all of St. Thomas.  Loving grandfather of Scott (Kristy), Amanda (Mike), Ashley (Chad), Joel and great grandfather of Dayton, Aria and Emily.

John proudly served with the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years.

After retirement he worked for Canada Post for several years.

An avid reader who loved to travel, nothing pleased him more than visiting with family and friends and sharing stories, especially about his childhood and family history.

A private family memorial service was held at HARRIS FUNERAL HOME, 220 St. James Street at Richmond on Friday, July 3rd.  Cremation with interment has taken place at St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
