LAVOIE, Joseph Réjean Julien (Reg), CWO (Ret’d), CD

LavoieWith heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Réjean Julien (Reg) Lavoie on February 24, 2025. Born on April 3, 1955, in Chicoutimi, Québec, Réjean was a man of deep dedication—whether to his country, his family, or the passions that filled his life.
Réjean served 39 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, achieving the esteemed rank of Chief Warrant Officer, the highest for a non-commissioned officer. He was honored to serve his country, including time spent overseas as a peacekeeper. His leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to those he served with left a lasting impact.
Beyond his career, Réjean found his greatest joy in the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, golf and hiking were not just hobbies—they were part of his soul. A true sports lover, he enjoyed many games, but baseball was his favorite. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and the Toronto Blue Jays, often found watching a game when he wasn’t outside working on something. Sitting still was never his style—unless it was to soak up the sun on his deck, enjoying a quiet moment.
Above all, Réjean was a devoted family man. He was the loving husband of Deborah Lavoie for 49 years, a proud father to Stephen Lavoie (Ashley) and Gregory Lavoie, and the proudest “Papapa” to his grandchildren, Jacob, Sophie, and James. He was predeceased by his beloved son, David Lavoie. His dogs were constant companions, bringing him comfort and companionship.
Réjean’s strength, kindness, and humour will live on in the stories we share and the memories we hold close. Dave, Jim, Patrick, cousin Celine amongst many others will welcome him to the next life.
To honour his wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute. Those who wish to remember Reg are invited to take a walk in the woods, breathe in the fresh air, and think of him.
Rest easy, Réjean. Your duty is done, your legacy lives on, and your spirit will forever be with us.
Je me souviens.
