EVANS, Curt Troy, CPO2 (Ret’d), CD, MMT, RCLS

EvansIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Curt Troy Evans; he began his earthly journey May 4, 1972 in Calgary Alberta, and finished September 22, 2024 at the V.G. Hospital in Halifax after a courageous three-year battle with Cancer.

Curt is survived by his one and only love Lisa (Sampson) Evans, and his two children who he adored, Kaylee and Jacob,

Curt lived a full and adventurous life, and chose his life adventures very carefully, as well as his friends over the years; he chose the best, loyal, adventurous and like minded like himself. He graduated Kensington High School and chose military life where, for 27 years of dedicated service he got to see the world while serving his country in war and peace and did it with amazing pride. But if there was any talk of those adventures it was not about the countries he saw, but mostly about the humanitarian work that was done that he was most proud of, such as peace keeping in war torn countries, bringing aid in the aftermath of natural disasters, saving countless lives at sea, and much more. He did this never thinking of the danger he was in but all for the deep compassion he had for his fellow man, Curt has left a huge mark in his short life span; his purpose here on earth is complete.

A celebration of Curt’s life is being held On October 1st, 6-8 at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street Dartmouth N.S. We, his family here on the Island would like to invite family and friends for a celebration of Curt’s life which will be on Thursday October 3, 2024 at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington from 4:30-7:30 p.m.  A Private family graveside service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m.  In lieu of flowers donation to the I.W.K Hospital would be appreciated.
