DESCHUTTER, Katherine, Sgt, CD, RMS Clerk

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sgt Katherine DeSchutter.  Katherine served the CAF for almost 28 years as a “pure” reservist.  She raised a family while serving, securing employment wherever her husband Greg was posted.  With his final posting they moved to the Comox Valley in 2008 and she served with 19 AR Flt/WCompt as a RMS Clerk.  A kind and soft-hearted spirit, Katherine was always supportive, volunteering her time supporting wing activities.  One of her greatest highlights was being selected by the wing as an official torch bearer for the Vancouver Olympic Games in 2010.

Katherine passed away 21 Sep 2015 after a two year battle with cancer.
