BARNETT, Maurice George (Barney), Maj (Ret’d), OMM, CD, Log-Fin
Barney died on July 27, 2024 at the age of 82 in Ottawa. He is survived by his wife Yvonne, daughter Jana, son Mark (Katina), grandson Nicholas and his sister Maurine.
Barney served in the CAF for 34 years with postings including CFB Petawawa, ADM (Fin), DFinS and DGProcS.
Barney specifically requested prior to his death that there be no funeral home visitation or church service. Barney will be interred in the National Military Cemetery located at Beechwood Cemetery.
In lieu of the services mentioned above, a graveside service with military presence will be held at the National Military Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Wednesday, August 7 at 1 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
