ROBERT, Mario, MCpl. Logistics-HRA

MCpl Mario Robert, 56, passed away on Tuesday, January 16th, 2018 at the North Island Hospital in Courtenay, BC after a courageous battle with cancer. Mario leaves behind his wife Elaine Labonté, his parents Louise and Denis Robert, as well as his brother Marc.
Mario joined the CAF as an Administration Clerk on 8 May 1979, then over the years, he became a Resource Management Support Clerk, and recently a Human Resources Administrator (all as a result of occupational restructuring). In 2002, he transferred from the Regular Force and moved over to the 19 Wing Air Reserve Flt where he was a big part of the 19 Wing Comox HRA/FSA family, having been employed in the 19 Wing HQ OR, the 19 AMS OR, and more recently in the 7 Hgr OR.
Mario has completed a tour to CFS Alert, Nicosia Cyprus, and two tours with JTF Afghanistan TSE.
As per Mario’s wishes, there will not be a military service, celebration of life, or interment ceremony; a private gathering will however be held in their home with Family and close friends.
