Russ, born September 25, 1919 passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the age of 98. Beloved husband of Thelma (nee Wiebe). Dear father of Bob, Laura (Hans), Jim (Lee), Alan (Betty Jean) and Katherine (Bryan). His cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren also mourn the loss of their grandpa.
Russ was born in Exeter, On, and had a long, successful career in the RCN, retiring after 26 years as a LCdr. He then had a second career in the Public service.
As an avid curler and volunteer, he was appointed as a lifetime member of the Gov. Gen. Curling Club. He was also a longtime devoted and active member of his church.
Friends may gather at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Parkwood Presbyterian Church (10 Chesterton Drive, Nepean) on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 2 p.m., with a time of refreshments and fellowship to follow.
