CORCORAN, Francis Ivan, RCASC/Logistics

Francis Ivan Corcoran was born on March, 29, 1936, in Charlottetown, PEI and passed away on May, 31, 2015, in Calgary, AB at the age of 79 years. Frank is survived by his wife of 57 years Helen, three children Diane (Norman) Massey of Calgary, AB, Cathy (Clayton) Leavitt of Estevan, SK and Darrell (Corrinne) of Calgary, AB; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Frank grew up in Halifax, NS. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1955 and served for 25 years in the RCASC with various postings in: Alberta and Ontario; with UNICEF in Egypt in 1961 and NATO in Germany from 1965-68. He retired from the CAF in Calgary in 1980 and worked for Trimac Transportation for 12 years before beginning “A Great Run” as a snowbird in Yuma, AZ for 23 years. Frank’s passions were playing the mandolin, guitar, and fiddle; as well as restoring and cruising in his vintage cars. He dearly loved his family and got great pleasure from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many lifelong friends from the military; his jamming partners; gym buddies; and the “Lake People”.
