PHILLIPS, Donald (Don) Henry, Capt (Ret’d), CD, RCAF, RCLS

PhillipsDon, beloved husband of the late Pat Phillips, passed away in Medicine Hat with family at his bedside following a brief illness on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the age of 82 years. Don leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Brad (Leila), Jeff (Boerny) and Don Jr. (Lisa); three grandchildren, Kelsey (Joel) Wagner, Alexander Phillips and Anthony Phillips; his very special great-granddaughter, Madeline Wagner as well as numerous other extended family including daughter-in-law, Laverne Phillips. He was predeceased by his honorary grandchild, Mitchell Burton.

Don was born and raised in the Trail, B.C. area. He proudly served in the R.C.A.F. from 1960 – 1994, retiring in Medicine Hat. During retirement, Don was very involved and donated much of his time to the Royal Canadian Legion, Robertson Memorial Branch #17 as well as the Lions Club of Medicine Hat.

Don’s strong sense of duty for his family and for his country will be forever remembered by all who knew him. A Celebration of Don’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. Don’s celebration will be live streamed.
