MUNROE, Joseph, Sgt, CD, MSE Op, RCLS
It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of Sergeant Joseph Munroe, CD on 10 June 2024. He is survived by his spouse Krista and their son, Sterling.
Born in Kentville, NS, in 1990, Joseph enrolled in the Canadian Army on 1 September 2009, and came to the Regiment (Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians))
in 2023 as the MSE Op in Transport Troop. He quickly integrated himself into the team and was immensely respected by both his supervisors and subordinates. He has been noted by his coworkers as always willing to assist those in need and was extremely dedicated to his role at the Regiment. An excellent instructor, he always took his time ensuring his students grasped all concepts and his contributions were greatly appreciated by his superiors.
He served the Canadian Armed Forces for 14 years of dedicated service in many capacities including postings to 1 Svc Bn, 41 Svc Bn, 3rd Cdn Div Training Centre, CFB Suffield, and overseas on Operation IMPACT – Kuwait in 2016.
The funeral for Sgt Joseph Munroe will be Monday 24 June at 1400 hrs in the Learning Training Facility (LTF) at Edmonton Garrison. The funeral is open to whomever would like to attend. The Dress will be DEU1A.
