MCDONALD, David Keith, Master Seaman (Ret’d), CD, RCN, RCLS-Sup Tech

McDonaldIt is with heartfelt sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved brother, David Keith McDonald, who passed peacefully on May 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after a battle with cancer.

David leaves behind his brothers: Dennis McDonald (Joanne); Paul McDonald (Denise); Greg McDonald (Marlene) and his sisters: Barbara Whitten (Gerry); Sharon Zalys (Bruce); and Tina Bursey (Kenny) as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.

David was a naval storesman veteran whose service included tours on West Coast ships, CFS Gander and two tours of peacekeeping duties in the Golan Heights.

Due to the Covid restrictions celebration of David’s life will be at a later date.

Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in David’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.

To the McDonald family….sorry for your loss…..I served with David on HMCS Algonquin when he was in charge of the master seaman and below…..he took charge of the group to ensure that they gave their best for the team, for the ship and for the country and he did this with his humour that came so so naturally to him from his upbringing on the “Rock”…..he love the ocean and love his home, may David have “Fair Winds ‘n Following Seas’ on his journey.
