Jim died peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2020 in hospital, at the age of 82. He will be missed dearly by the love of his life and wife of 60 years Dorothy (nee Ash). Loving father of Tammy (Neil) and Greg (Ellen). Cherished grandfather “papa” of Taylor, Ryan, Sarah and Sean. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends.
Jim started his military career in 1956 with the Black Watch, then moved on with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps (RCASC) and finished his career with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as Warrant Officer (WO), retiring after 25 years in 1981. He continued an additional 10-year civilian career with National Defence Headquarters (DND) as an Admin Officer to complete a dedicated 35-year career in 1992.
Jim was a quiet, gentle, caring man who loved to chat. He loved to read the newspaper, do jigsaw puzzles and watch his favourite sport on TV – hockey, cheering on his Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.
